Former Coe student Claire Tupper (‘18) is the new health coordinator for the campus’s Health Services department. Since September of 2021, Tupper has been here to help students with finding their immunization records, testing for COVID-19, contact tracing, rapid testing, scheduling appointments with the PA, engaging in healthy habits, referrals for long-term care, as well as helping set up more Health & Wellness activities. You can find Tupper located in the Health Services Department located under the Pub, or you can email her via the o-healthservices@coe.edu email.
Tupper graduated with plans to pursue a career in teaching. A few semesters in, she realized teaching may not be right for her. There were a lot of aspects about teaching she liked and she was able to find those qualities in administrative work, which led her to this position. She taught English at the Catherine Mcauley Center, where she still volunteers today, but then went on to teach English in Laos for a year.
In a time when COVID has settled down, Tupper hopes to be able to plan more wellness activities, educate more about health and wellness, increase their social media presence, and even try and bring back the Wellness club.
When not behind the health services desk, you can find Tupper playing with her golden retriever named Waylon, tending to her plants, or watching The Great British Baking Show and even trying her hand at baking.
“I love this school,” Tupper said. “I just want to make it as good of a place as it can be. Sometimes the transition is very tough on students and I’m here to help. I’m really ready to do whatever for Coe and its students.”
